Till I have My Ugliness

A half clad-girl sat along the side
Ugly, unkempt and disheveled
She wouldn’t have known anything
Leave the beauty aside

Spell of the morning blush of the dawn
To the fragrance of the evening dusk
Her speckled skin spoke filth
And the ignorant skinny bones fawn

Despised and rejected she would have been
Lamenting her countenance in this age
Never would she think of love
For summers back home would be lean

Ironical, Incongruous is what I believe
When elegy turns into song of love
She sang through the merriment and gay
To fill heart of her love with relief

How do you find love with blemish?
Cos’ love was known for its beauty
Beauty in the eye of beholder, she replied
Love is what we nurture and cherish

The great distance is between us
For still I have my weakness
Desire gets you nowhere
The worst we have seen is us

For still I have my keenness
To love him just the way he is
To have him just the way I can
Till I have my ugliness
Till I have my ugliness…
